What is a Murphy Bed? A Murphy Bed is a way to conveniently store a bed out of the way until it is needed. Originally designed and patented in 1916 by William Lawrence Murphy of San Francisco, California, the term Murphy Bed had become such a household term that in 1989 a U.S. Court ruled that "Murphy Bed" can be used as a generic term. Our Murphy Beds use standard mattresses for full comfort. Our systems handle standard sizes. Systems are available for twin, full, queen, and king size beds. Custom sizing is available upon request.

STANDARD MATTRESSES: No thin, folding mattresses like a sleeper-sofa. No air mattresses.
